Abstract

In the paper, investigation results are presented. The objective was to improve the mechanical characteristics (hardness and wear resistance) of layers produced by surfacing using TiN and SiC nanoparticles in coated electrodes (SMAW process). The two parameters were controlled by varying the introduced nanoparticles. Metallographic investigations of selected samples have been carried out, and the microstructure changes have been established.
