Abstract
The most important international and national standards that regulate the names, chemical compositions and mechanical properties of coated electrodes are intertwined and complementary, and some standards have great similarities and often derive from each other. For that reason, there is no precisely defined limit, which defines the difference between coated electrodes that are used for welding a certain group of materials. The paper will consider the manufacturing method of grouping coated electrodes depending on the standard or depending on the purpose and chemical composition
