Repair welding of segments on excavator ERS 1000/25 drive wheel

Abstract

The repair welding methods of damaged parts of excavator units exposed to different wear processes are discussed in this paper. In order to determine the most favorable repair welding technology, surfacing were performed on the models, thus the adopted technology was transferred to the real parts exposed to real exploatation conditions. Obtained results indicate that by proper selection of surfacing parameters and surfacing plan it is possible to obtain adequate microstructures characterized by good wear resistance, which provide significant financial effects as well as safer conditions during coal exploitation at the Surface Mine “Kolubara”.
