Influence of heat treatment on mechanical properties of surface weld on steel casting G24Mn6
Abstract
When casting casting parts made of cast steel G24Mn6, due to defects in casting technology, imperfections can occur that can be repaired by surfacing technology. Ultimately, the quality of the repaired cast part also depends on the mechanical properties of the surface weld. Heat treatment of the cast part, which is performed before and after surfacing, affects the value of the mechanical properties of the surface weld. Repair of casting imperfetions can be performed when the cast part is in the normalized or quenching and tempering condition, depending on the appearance of cracks after heat treatment in case the cast part is surfacing in the normalized state. The paper analyzes the results of the influence of the order of heat treatment before and after surfacing on the mechanical properties of the surface weld.
